With our album *1923*, we embark on a journey of discovery into a time of upheaval. The year 1923 represents an era caught between new beginnings and uncertainty—politically, socially, and artistically. It is precisely these tensions and contrasts that fascinate us.

In the music of this era, we encounter an extraordinary diversity of forms of expression: Tradition and the avant-garde stand side by side; the familiar meets radically new musical languages. For us, therefore, 1923 is not a historical retrospective, but a living dialogue with a time that feels surprisingly present. In developing this program, we were particularly interested in how composers responded to the challenges of their time—how they pushed boundaries, sought new paths, and in doing so developed their own unique musical voices. We strive to make this energy, this searching and questioning, audible in our interpretation.

For us, 1923 is an invitation to listen more closely: to nuances, to breaks, to that which is in flux. For it is precisely in these moments that the most exciting music often emerges.
